PetEdge Groomer's Showcase: Dog Days of Summer Edition

After taking a break last time out to share some cat grooming photos, we're back with another all-dog edition of the PetEdge groomer's showcase. 

We're happy to feature these great before and after pics from Brook, Mary and Joy.

Brook writes: "Hi my name is Brook Willoughby I own my own grooming salon in Georgetown Ky called Shaggy Doos Pet Grooming Salon. I just turned 30 years old and have been grooming since I was 18. I have owned and operated Shaggy Doos since the age of 19.

I am showing off this picture of Yogi the Labradoodle. I used my new Wahl Storm Clippers for some spots, but mostly I hand-carved this coat with Scissors. I think he turned out beautiful!

Mary writes: "Twelve-year-old Lucy hadn't seen me in a while. I used Andis 2-Speed Clippers with an Oster 5F blade, a slicker brush, a comb and PPP's Oatmeal and Chamomille shampoo to loosen knots.

"I also used a lot of Top Performance GloCoat—that stuff is wonderful. I've been using it for 10 years now. Lucy hated the brushing out, but with patience she calmed down so I could finish her. I have been buying from PetEdge for my whole 14-year career in grooming."

Cathi Denham (the owner of Catnip and Biscuits) writes: "Joy is formerly from Western Massachusetts and now lives in Savannah by way of Raleigh, NC. Joy has worked in Catnip and Biscuits since our opening day May 1, 2010. She has done a great job building her grooming business by giving customers more than they asked or hoped for.

"This dog is Murphy. He is a Shitzu who belonged to a neighbor of our business. The dog had not been groomed for 6 to 9 months and was tangled, matted to the skin and very uncomfortable.

"Joy used a Wahl KM2 Clipper with #10 blade. Her major challenge was not to cut the dog! The other challenge was to leave as much hair as possible and still put the dog in a haircut.

"As you can see, she succeeded. Murphy and his parents were very pleased with the results."
